The Art for All project was a collaborative artwork project whereby BLSC (Belgian Luxembourg Council of Retail and Shopping Centers) invited its members to organise a collaborative artistic project aimed at the general public. The principle was that each participating shopping centre or retail park proposed an original idea for a work of art and involved as many local communities as possible.

Eurocommercial is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted for the BLSC Marketing Awards in the category Large shopping centres in recognition of its contribution to the Art for All project at Woluwe Shopping Center.
The Woluwe Project combined art and sustainability:
Woluwe Shopping invited the public to drop off their old clothes in a sustainable and creative way. The fabrics were entrusted to “Les Petits Riens” (local NGO) which sorted them. Recoverable items were integrated into their recycling circuit. Unusable clothes were integrated into a large collaborative work of art developed by Woluwe Shopping. More than a ton of clothing was collected.
The artist François Coorens sketched the portraits of three prominent Brussels stars: Angèle, Stromae and Damso. The public enriched these portraits by attaching various pieces of fabric to them, according to a scheme defined by François Coorens. He gave his own final touch to the three portraits in three live painting sessions.
This sustainable clothing drive with a great creative impulse proved with very popular, bringing together many creative customers, shopkeepers and schools and producing very nice collaborative artwork as a result.
The award ceremony will take place on Thursday 13 October.
